Luminus Devices' Vice President of Products to Discuss Progress in High-Brightness LEDs for Projection Applications at Projection Summit 2007

WHO: Dr. Christian Hoepfner, vice president of products at Luminus Devices, the manufacturers of PhlatLight (Photonic Lattice light) LED technology, which is enabling the innovation and commercialization of powerful new microdisplay systems illuminated by a solid-state light source. PhlatLight chipsets are currently used in projection TVs from Samsung and NuVision, as well as in LG Electronics’ recently introduced HS101 pocket projector, the brightest LED-based projector on the market. The company also recently demonstrated a 52-inch prototype of its edge-light backlight unit for LCD TVs, and is currently developing solid-state light sources for other high-brightness applications.

 

WHAT: Dr. Hoepfner will present at Projection Summit 2007, produced by Insight Media and McLaughlin Consulting Group. His presentation, “Rapid Progress in High Brightness LEDs for Projection,” is part of the first LED/Lamp/Laser Devices session, which focuses on trends in new light source technologies. Hoepfner will review the progress made with LEDs for projection applications, and will offer an outlook on the possibilities for future improvements in LED brightness and for new products.

WHEN: Projection Summit will take place June 17-18, 2007. Dr. Hoepfner’s presentation, “Rapid Progress in High Brightness LEDs for Projection,” will take place on Sunday, June 17 from 8:45 to 9:00 a.m.
