January 8, 2007Woburn, Massachusetts – Luminus Devices, Inc., the company that introduced PhlatLight™ high-power LEDs, today announced that it has launched a new website (http://www.phlatlight.com) to provide information to retailers and consumers about the advantages of current LED illumination technologies being used in the newest generation of high-definition rear projection televisions. The web site will help consumers make more informed choices as they face an increasing array of high-definition products.
“There is a lot of confusion in the market right now about the various technologies used in high- definition televisions,” said John Langevin, vice president of sales and marketing at Luminus Devices. “We designed this site to help retailers and consumers understand the benefits of LED illumination and the unique features of PhlatLight LED technology.”
The site includes detailed visual illustrations of how various microdisplay technologies such as DLP, LCOS and 3LCD work in projection television systems and highlights the benefits of using a solid state light source, which include brilliant image quality, deeper color saturation, longer operating lifetime, and lower power consumption.
Luminus develops and manufactures high-performance solid state light emitting devices and systems using the most advanced manufacturing processes.
